Okay guys, I woke up this morning (8th of May) and my Explore page on Instagram was flooded with amazing looks from the 2018 MET Gala that I had to pause to write the post.
The theme “HEAVENLY BODIES: FASHION AND THE CATHOLIC IMAGINATION is interesting and well thought and the celebrities that graced the red carpet interpreted the theme so well.
In no particular order here are my favourite looks from the Met Gala
Okay ignore that “in no particular order” line for a second my absolute favourite looks is this Martin Margiela Pope dress on Rihanna. This was literally the first thing I saw on my Timeline this morning. I’m like can you Favourite ever?? She went to the gala as a POPE, mixed with a bit of a sluty Catholic girl or Nun. She definately does not know how to turn her sexy off! What’s not to like?? This look completely interprets the theme of the gala and can we all agree that Rihanna can almost pull anything off!!
I love her!!! Take me to Church Ma!!
Her warrior-like look interpretes the Catholic theme that most people won’t have ordinarily gravitated towards especially females. Her inspiration was the Joan of Arc . I like how she was able to pull this look off while still looking hella sexy. Talk about “girl power”. Beneath her armor is this embellished silver low neck, backless Versace dress that gave us just the right amout of skin.
- JANALLE MONAE
We can all agree that she owns her style effortlessly and I’m all about slaying in your personal style. Her look was gracious to say the very least and I am completely down for it!!
- BOSEMAN CHADWICK
Okay I’m a little mad at T’challa for not taking me to Wakanda *folds arms and rolls eyes*. Regardless of our differences I can not ignore that he brought it to the MET GALA! He brought his A game. I’ll be a breathen in the church he ministers in, trust me!! Maybe then he’ll take me to Wakanda where we will live happily ever after.
- CARDI B
Okuuuuurt ma!! She slayed so hard with her baby bump!!
Her dress, crown, gloves everything worked hand in hand to make her look like a beautiful queen that she is. The designer Jeremy Scott really went ham on this peice. I can tell it took a lot of workmanship and skill to get the beautiful detailing on the dress.
Below are some other looks that I thought were beautiful, interesting and exquisite.
I hope you enjoyed this post, and agree with my top 5. If not comment below your favourites.
Till the next post
