Current jam: I’ve honestly just been saying ”Shoot your shot 2018”
”Everyday is an opportunity to do better, never waste it”
With few more hours to 2018, I thought I’d share with you some of the things I’ll like to do in 2018. I am not particularly into mapping out ‘To-do lists’ or writing down how I want things to go because I’m a ‘like-to-see-how-things-go-kind-of-person’. I like to see what life throws at me and how I handle them, it’s more fun that way, plus I’ll totally freak out if I don’t check off all the “to do’s” before time runs out (that’s just me, comment down below if you can relate).
Below are some of the things I’ll like to do in 2018, in no particular order
- LEARN TO DRIVE
If my teenage self could see me now, she’d be side eyeing me because I’ve always wanted to drive since I was like 16. At 23 I think it’s high time I learnt how to drive.
- PAY MORE ATTENTION TO MY SKIN
If you read my post on acne you would know that I have ‘problem’ skin, next year, I intend to pay more attention to my skin (face) because in all truth I can do better than I am doing now. I plan to create a routine suitable for me and stick to it. I recently started to wash my face with raw African black soap (and so far it has been good), which I will be reviewing in the near future.
- WEAR MY HAIR OUT LESS
I wore my hair out most of this year which means I tampered with my hair too many times ”styling it” this resulted in a lot of breakage and dryness . In 2018, I plan on wearing protective styles most of the time, making sure my edges are not tightly pulled at (that’d just be counterproductive) and my ends a properly secured.
- DRINK MORE WATER
Everybody that knows me knows that I’m the queen of drinking water, but it’s never too much. I’ll keep drinking water and infusing my water with lemon and ginger from time to time.
- EAT LESS SUGAR
I actually almost hate sugar in it’s natural form but when processed like in coke I’m such an addict. Less of coke for me in 2018 *fingers crossed*
- EAT MORE OF FISH THAN BEEF & CHICKEN
Lately, I’ve not really been digging meat, like I had beef few days ago and I was literally nauseated. I’ve been eating more of fish and I’ll like to stick to that henceforth, (not saying that I’ll become a pestcatarian) occasional having beef and chicken (Turkey is almost out of it for me).
- READ MORE BOOKS
I need to read more books!!! At least one book per month so help me God!
- ACCESSORIZE MORE
Because accessories tie a look up nicely.
- COLLABORATE WITH BLOGGERS AND BRANDS
I feel like I am experienced enough to work with like minds to create valuable contents.
- BRUSH UP MY FRENCH
I started to learn French this year and I’ve been loving it. I will like to continue to learn the language and hopefully I’ll pick up another language, Spanish maybe. Like I said here, I have a thing for language.
- CREATE MORE BLOG POSTS
Not just creating more but also making sure they’re of high quality, add value to you and you enjoy them.
- WORK OUT
I used to work out, then I stopped and ever since I’ve been scared to resume because of the soreness that will hit me when I do. I wasn’t working out to lose weight but to be active and fit, in my working out days, I used to feel good after every session, my legs were strong, and I was generally fit, I miss that and I’ll like to get back on track.
- START TO WEAR MAKEUP
Taking it from the top, I will start with getting makeup. I don’t wear makeup because I don’t like to put anything on my face (even moisturizers *covers face*). Few weeks ago, my friend ”beat my face” and I was in love with the results, I have decided to start to wear a few makeup like mascara, eyeliner and lipstick/ lip glosses and see how I like or can handle it (baby steps).
